Shot cleaning versus infrasound technology

Why infrasound is more efficient than shot cleaning in preventing soot build-up in boilers! Shot cleaning uses shots or clips, made of steel or aluminium, which are dropped into a heat exchanger and thereby removes deposits from the heat transfer surfaces. For economizers, air preheaters and other areas with rather low flue gas temperature, and thereby dry deposits, infrasound technology is a better choice due to the following disadvantages with shot cleaning:

  • Increased wear
  • More maintenance
  • Working environment issues
